Sharing 2 cards today that I made for a Christmas card swap.
I made the cards with Spellbinders™ die templates, the cone is Nested Lacey Pennants, the flower is Layered Poinsettia, and the tags are from Fancy Tags One and Grommet Tags. I used a variety of papers, it was a great opportunity to dig deep into my stash and find some patterned I wouldn’t have otherwise used. I should do this more often it’s like shopping without spending money!
I sprayed the reds with Candy Apple Red Glimmer Mist to unify the tones and give the flowers a bit of sparkle. The stamp Joyeux Noel is from JustRite Stampers. The Nested Lacey Pennants have the lacey part folded in, and I curled the entire piece in my hands to make them seem more rounded. I applied SCRAPBOOK ADHESIVES BY 3L™ Crafty Foam Tape to the center of the cone, and E-Z Squares® to the lacey edges. 3D Foam Squares hold the tags in place.
I’m off to do more Christmas shopping! I have both trees up, but only the vintage tree has been decorated. It’s hard to pin down a time when everyone is home and awake at the same time to decorate and take pictures!
Wishing you a wonderful holiday season!
Welcome everyone! I’m getting ready for the holidays!
I made these gift bag toppers over the weekend. They’re fun, festive and quick to make with JustRite® Stampers and Spellbinders™ dies!
I stamped with the JustRite Stampers sets and heat embossed the designs. I used gel pens to color inside some of the lines to add a pop of color. The center of the stamp allows room to stamp a greeting or write a name.
Once the ink was dry I die cut and embossed the images with Spellbinders 2010 Heirloom Ornament and 2011 Heirloom Ornament dies. I attached the ornament shapes onto clothes pins with SCRAPBOOK ADHESIVES BY 3L™ Crafty Power Tape. Tie ribbon above the ornament, add a spot of bling and they’re done! Just clip to a gift bag!

Spellbinders is at it again! Its their 5th anniversary and they’re practically giving away the farm! Starting next Monday the sneak peeks at the new release die templates are starting. Just like last summer, visit the blog, send the email from the link to register to win the die. But this time you will win not just that day’s die template, but each die that has been show up to that day. So every day the prize package gets bigger. If you go to each designated blog on the designated day, and enter to win, you will be entered for the jumbo prize. Here are the official details.
See that tiny little sneak peek die template at the above link? I’m doing that one! And its super cool and fun and so versatile! I can’t stop playing with it! But you’ll have to wait until January 15 when I get to reveal it. I’ve been playing with the other new die templates too, and when I first got them I thought, hmmmm, this is interesting. I grabbed some scrap paper, started cutting and embossing, and DING DING DING, how cool is this? So very cool! You all will love these new releases, and the artwork too!
No cookies for breakfast today, I had leftover pizza. Cindy had a bite too, but now she’s back upstairs by her daddy. He’s been home for almost 2 weeks on vacation and she couldn’t be happier. Me, I’m about ready to throw everyone out. These vacations bust up my routine and nothing gets done. I’m ready for work and school when I can finally dig out of the holiday decor, laundry and clutter. And I’m soooooo done with this weather! And 2008. OK, so it’s ending on a better note than where it started, but I’m ready for 2009. Enough venting.
Here’s to a great 2009 with lots more cookies, artwork and Cindy stories!
Cindy says Happy Holidays!
