Flourishes Birthday Card Tutorial

I promised the instructions on the card I made for the Flourishes Birthday Blog Hop yesterday. Thank you Flourishes for the invitation to be a part of your blog hop!

I would have added the instructions to that post, but a combination of computer problems, some not so great photos, dentist appointments and a rugby parent meeting cut my time short, oh and that thing called work, which involves the not so productive computer.

Lets go going!  I mentioned my supply list,  Worldwin Paper, Clearsnap ink and Bits of Bling, SCRAPBOOK ADHESIVES BY 3L™ 3D Foam Squares and MyStik™ and a bit of twine!  I used Spellbinders™  LF-168 Grand Large LabelsS4-324 Ribbon Banners and S5-028 Nested Pennants.

I started with a Shaped Card base, made by folding 12×12″ cardstock in  half, aligning the fold line just below the cut edge of Grand Large Labels #5 (#1 is the smallest in the set).  I cut the shaped card base.

Next I taped the Grand Large Labels #4 to the card base, nesting it inside of the #5 die template.  I embossed this in the Grand Calibur™, and that’s how I achieved the second embossed line around the edges.

I cut/embossed with the #3 die template with white and lighter purple paper for the front and side of the card.  On the light purple front I stamped with one of the border stamps.

On the white-inside I stamped with one of the sentiments and floral images.

For the banner on the front, I stamped the plaid images and cut/embossed with the ribbon piece from Nested Pennants.  For the Ribbon Banners, I curved the stamp to match the curve of the die cut.

I used 3D Foam Squares to mount the Ribbon Banner to the front of the card.  I also used them to attach the twine to the Pennant, and then to the card, so they had a dimensional look.  I added some bling and it’s done!

And the finished card again,

Thank you again for stopping by!  Next week I’m in the Spellbinders Bunny Hop,

 I’ll post that schedule next!
