Watercolor Christmas Card

Happy Belated Thanksgiving, I hope yours was great. Between having the boys home from school, cooking, cleaning, and having to take down the computer (it normally lives on the dining room table), and then a bit of a family cell phone fiasco on Black Friday, I’m catching up on Friday’s blog post.

This went up on A Jillian Vance Design on Friday. Yellow on a Christmas card? Yes, I know, but it seemed to go much better with the greens than anything else I tried to match it to. The watercolor effect is via Distress Ink.

BethPingry Watercolored Christmas cardI have more detailed information on my post at A Jillian Vance Design, I’d love it if you clicked over to visit.

Also, if you like this stamp (Oh Holy Night), it’s still on sale for the Black Friday promotion though Nov 30, and be sure to use the code BF2014 for additional discounts!

Don’t Sweat It Card

Happy Saturday Morning! It’s the start of the first holiday week here! I’m hosting Thanksgiving dinner on Thursday, and well, this house isn’t going to clean itself. Believe me, I’ve given it enough time, ugh!

I’m on the Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® blog today for a blog hop with Art Impressions Stamps. I received this fun runner lady stamp, so I layered her up, colored her in and gave her a race bib too! See all the details on this post, and be sure to enter to win adhesives and a stamp!

Majestic Deer Christmas Card

Hello! I’m up on the A Jillian Vance Design Blog today with a Christmas card featuring the Majestic Deer die. It’s a really pretty die cut, with the elegant antlers. I love the silhouette it made against the green cardstock.

Thanks So Much Card

Good Morning and Happy November! It’s almost time for the Christmas tree, but I have a few things happening before I can do that: Next weekend Nov 7-9, I’m in a HUGE blog hop, so please plan on coming back, I’ll remind you on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Pinterest. On the 9th have my last half marathon of the year, and boy will I be glad when that’s over (wish me luck)! Then I’m off to Arizona with my mom and sister for some girl time. Whew!

But first, today’s card! This is for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L design team. I have the tutorial, you can click over to see the whole process, it’s pretty easy! I think this design would lend itself well to a lot of genres, like wedding, anniversary, Christmas, New Year’s, just change the sentiment and colors as needed! You can even color the white photo corners to match your project.

Thanks So Much by Beth PingryThe embellishment is made with Creative Photo Corners, and yes, I used lace (a remnant from the craft store) and Adhesive Sheets.

Thanks for visiting, and be sure to come back next Friday!

Last Minute Halloween Treat Bag

Looking for a last minute Halloween treat bag idea? Just layer some die cuts onto a bag! I made this for A Jillian Vance Design today.

Halloween Treat Bag by Beth Pingry

I used a glassine bag, but this would work on just about anything. Just remember to vary the pattern on the die cuts. I also used 3D Foam Squares between the layers for more dimension and depth. Be sure to emboss the die cuts too, that adds a finished touch!

BethPingry-PumpkinBag2Happy Halloween!

Catching Up!

Sheesh, it’s been a crazy week here, and I have some projects to catch up on.

Today on  A Jillian Vance Design I have this Wreath Of Hope Card, if you click over I have some details on how I made it. It is very pretty with the white on white embossing, but difficult to photograph when it’s dark and rainy.

The next one is a card I made last year with the same Wreath of Hope set, I blogged it last year and Jillian used it yesterday for a #tbt, so you can see the details on this blog or at AJVD

This week was my 25th wedding anniversary, so here’s a little #tb25 for you:

cutcakeIf I remember correctly, the theme was Pouf! Big hair, big dress, big veil, big sleeves…oh and big cake! But we had big fun too (and still do)!

One more thing! MyMarkers is featured in the November issue of  Paper Crafts and Scrapbooking Magazine! What is MyMarkers? It is an app my hubby (the same one pictured above) wrote for me so I didn’t duplicate my marker buying. It is available for IOS and Android. Included in the app are all the craft and artist markers, and now ink pads too! Its a great way to keep track of what you have, and it also has a wish list so you know what you need!

Happy weekend everyone! Thanks for visiting!

BethPingry - Coffee Lovers Blog Hop

and a close up

BethPingry-CoffeeLovers-2

1. When did you start drinking coffee? When my youngest was about 1 year old. I don’t know why I waited so long, that boy never slept and I spent much of that year half-asleep, while the baby never slept!

2. What is favorite brand (you can name up to three). I stick with what I like, and we brew either Starbucks or Dunkin Donuts at home. We work from home, we’d look pretty silly standing in line at the coffee shop in our jammies!

3. What is the most amazing coffee that you had? Remember where and when? I would have to say my first peppermint mocha…the start of a love story!

4. If I don’t drink my needed coffee, I will… be very cranky! I should also not answer emails before my second cup. Just last week I referred to this year as 2013. (I probably shouldn’t be blogging either!)

So a little about my card – I recently bought some DCWV burlap paper and I love how it die cuts and that you can ink and stamp directly on it! I started with that as my base, and added the Vintage Floral background stamp from A Jillian Vance Design. Then I stamped and colored the Tea Time cup with Copic markers. I also colored the chipboard letters, I didn’t like the look at first, but now I think it looks like coffee stains!

I used 3D Foam Hearts from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® with red glitter above the cup, then added some lines with the brown marker. I layered the burlap on to red cardstock, then a kraft card base, using Creative Photo Corners. The cup was with 3D Foam Squares (they stick to anything!) for dimension.

Here are my supplies:

  • Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L®: 3D Foam Hearts, 3D Foam Squares Black, Creative Photo Corners Kraft, E-Z Squares® Refillable
  • A Jillian Vance Design: Vintage Floral Background Builder, Tea Time Stamp Set
  • Copic Markers: R39, R37, G28, G24, O, E18, E43 (see MyMarkers for an app that organizes all your markers and ink pads, written by my hubby, available for IOS and Android)
  • Clearsnap: Mix’d Media Chox ink – sparrow
  • DCWV – Burlap paper
  • American Crafts – Thickers Platforms
  • Red Glitter, Red and Kraft cardstock
