Christmastime with Cindy

Christmas is a special time for children and Bull Terriers.  Remember last Christmas, stealing the stockings

This year she hasn’t paid any attention to them.

But she loves the tree.  She was so excited to get the tree out and had to sniff every last branch as we put it up.  Everyone should have such an enthusiastic helper!

Here she’s doing the slow walk under the tree, she is meserized. Her ears go back, she walks very slowly, placing one foot at a time.

I wonder what happened to the “old” baskitball(s)?

I have been crazy busy with a huge project, and I’m working on a self hosted site as well.  And someone needs to do some shopping, as you can see, there’s not much under the tree!

Thanks for stopping by!

News Updates

It’s been a busy month, that’s my excuse for not blogging.  Actually I do blog in my mind, but it never seems to get to the keyboard.  So pardon the jammies and the cold coffee, here’s the deal lately…

I am back from 10 days in Arizona.  It was a busy trip, which included the Spellbinders Design Team retreat.  We kept pretty busy and I didn’t get much time in the sun.  That bodes well for freckles and wrinkles, but not so much for relaxation and a “healthy” glow on my winter-white skin.

Speaking of wrinkles {and my lack thereof}, (cue hair flip) I celebrated my 29th birthday {with experience} during the trip.  I still haven’t decided what I want for my birthday, but its been narrowed down to a Canon 50D, Nikon 300s, or keep the Rebel XT and keep thinking.  The teenagers at Best Buy have been, like, helpful. Dude.  As I was stroking the 50D one tried to talk me into a point and shoot.  Really?  So my next stop is the real camera store to see if I can rent one of each to play with them.

While I was gallivanting around Phoenix, little Evan was the jet-set junior himself.  That’s right, he got his ticket to fly and is officially a US Citizen, member of the family and still smiling.  They had a few speed bumps on the way out of China, and somewhat of a journey in health, language and culture, but I’m sure he’ll be just fine!  I will get to see him soon!

I have been pampered since I returned.  Don’t think that’s the norm.  However, I walked up to the front door to this:

I planted tons of bulbs last fall and was afraid I was going to miss the blooms. Spunky, my budding chef, had baked a birthday cake and decorated it.  Sparky came through and did some laundry (no? Yes!)  And Cindy was just plain old happy to have Momma home, as was Pizza Man.

A certain 16 year old is begging for a vehicle, and that has turned him into a very helpful fellow around the house.  A certain 15 year old is begging me to sign him up for driver’s ed, and that makes him a very helpful fellow around the house.  You should see how sparkling clean their bathroom is!  Or maybe not, because that was yesterday.

Cindy has resumed her security service, protecting us from random bunnies and squirrels.  she’s just happy to go for walkies.

I’ve got a really big announcement coming up, and lots of art, I promise!

Fat and Happy, Very Very Happy!

I mentioned that Cindy was fat and happy, but I didn’t explain.  Cindy’s daddy now comes home for lunch, and coffee, and snacks, and playtime.  Cindy’s daddy’s commute  has gone from 80 minutes (when the trains are on time) to 2 seconds!  He’s been working from home, and no one could be happier than my silly girl.

Sure, she loves her momma plenty.  But when her daddy is home, every one else is chopped liver.  No, wait, she would eat chopped liver.  Make that cardboard, wait, she’ll eat that too.  Uh, wait, no, there’s a lot of stuff she’ll chew on when she’s bored.  Suffice to say, she’s not bored with her daddy home.  She sleeps on the bed in the office, or on the bean bag under the desk (that just happens to be on top of a heat vent) and keeps her daddy’s feet warm. If she could only fit on his lap… She likes to taste test his lunch (and momma’s too), and make sure her daddy gets enough exercise by taking him out on walks and in the backyard to play.

Now another update, if you’ve followed the story of little Evan.  Molly and her husband have received the last of the paperwork and travel instructions, and they have booked their flights!  They are leaving this week to complete Evan’s adoption in China!  He’ll be home in about 3 weeks!  More exciting news is that they’ve continued to receive financial support.  Two very generous readers of MY BLOG contacted me to send them a donation.  Thank you ladies!   And then there is the gift of $3,500 gift from a foundation, which just about covered the $3,700 airfare for 2 round trips and 1 one-way!  Join me in wishing them safe travels!

I’ve got some art ready to post, I’ll do that in a minute.

Thanks!!
