Amazing Paper Grace Pop Up 3D Vignette Home Sweet Home

It’s so true that all paths lead home.  It’s during this long stint with the pandemic that many of us have come to realize that it doesn’t matter where you are; it’s the people you are with.  That’s the inspiration that fed into the creation of the July 2021 Amazing Paper Grace Die of the Month, Pop Up 3D Vignette Home Sweet Home.  The sentiment that comes within the set says it all – You are My Home.

There’s just something so quaint and sweet about little houses. They mean so much to us – a place of safety, a place of comfort, a place of love. It’s only fitting that one should show up as a Mini Vignette! This card folds flat to fit into an envelope to be sent through the mail. It beckons you to insert your favorite pictures, a multipage note or sweet nothings on the three panels that rest inside.

Here are some ideas that might inspire you to create:

  1. A mini scrapbook album
  2. A table centerpiece with a house on each side
  3. Separate the small house facade and use it on a card, a scrapbook layout, and beyond!

Dies for my creations today were supplied by Amazing Paper Grace.

There are 21 dies included in the Pop Up 3D Vignette Home Sweet Home.

My Project Today using Pop Up 3D Vignette Home Sweet Home

Today’s cards are an exercise in minimalism, not because I way trying to make a statement, but because we’re moving! My Grand Calibur is lovingly packed away, along with most of my craft supplies. I only have a 4″ wide die cut machine and a few sheets of cardstock at my finger tips. In a way it makes the process easier!

My 3D Vignette card is made according to the video linked below and the instructions with the kit. It’s easy and follows the same format as other 3D Vignettes. The placement of the embellishments is up to you, notice everyone has a different take on them.

My card below uses 2 sets from the Make A Scene collection because 1. I needed something for a background without having other supplies to use, and 2. they fit the card so perfectly! It’s a simple top fold, and to keep the Home tall and narrow I skipped the body of the house and cut down the roof to fit. You’ll notice the facade of the house has folds to give it some dimension.

Designer Tip:

Trim the inserts about 1/4 inch so they fit easily into the 3D Vignette card spaces. Use sturdy cardstock for the structure of the 3D Vignettes.

Christmas Cascade Blog Hop |Amazing Paper Grace

Christmas Cascade Blog Hop for Amazing Paper Grace by Beth Pingry Blue Snowflake paper craft ensemble

We all love interactive and kinetic cards! Introducing the Christmas Cascade Collection!

This holiday collection allows you to make a Cascading Card inside of a Shadowbox Frame, mounted on a card base or unmounted. Don’t worry, these motifs make great conventional cards as well.

We listened to you, and we heard loud and clear that our community loves dynamic and purposeful cards. In previous collections we gave you 3D Vignettes in a Christmas way.  Now we’ve found a way to merge a Collection favorite, Shadowbox Vignettes, in a new format.

Becca Feeken with Amazing Paper Grace sent me these fabulous dies to start my Christmas card making!

Our Creative Team is sharing our makes from the Christmas Cascade Collection.  Let’s take a second to sort this out…

What’s a Christmas Cascade?

Amazing Paper Grace takes a spin on Christmas by building a new collection around something you already have in your stash – the Shadowbox Dies.  Becca loves building upon what you already have and making it new again.

Christmas Cascade is made up of sets of 3-inch motif dies where each set has 3 motifs.  That’s enough for each leaf of your waterfall but again, you could make them the center of your A2 or your A7 card. These, paired with the Waterfall base will allow you to use any dies to make your next Waterfall Card.

The Inspiration Behind Christmas Cascade

The inspiration for Christmas Cascade was to produce a motif to use from an enclosure card all the way up to full A7 card with background layers.  This “cardlet” size has been a favorite in our stash because the elements can easily transition into all of the Amazing Paper Grace Collections and to all size cards.  Hint:  This is not the last time you will see “Cardlets”

Each of our Creative Team members will show you how to make a Christmas Cascade Card that is a waterfall card and a Christmas Cascade Card that is a flat card.

My Waterfall Card

First up is my Waterfall Card using Amazing Paper Grace S5-429 Snowflake Splendor by Spellbinders.

Here is what the dies look like:

S6-166 Christmas Cascade Card Base

I’m using a joy fold card base to hold the waterfall piece. You flip open the card and pull the tab, and each snowflake lifts off and flips to the side. It’s super fun, and really easy to make with the dies in the set. Visit my Instagram page to see my quick video showing how the card works! Then you can see every else’s with the list in the post!

Designer Tip:  Add depth and dimension to your die cuts by adding a shadow in a contrasting color. Just adhere the die cuts slightly offset, as I have done with the snowflakes.

Next I have a card and simple ornament or small gift box using Amazing Paper Grace S5-429 Snowflake Splendor by Spellbinders. On both cards I used S4-1051 Oval Coronet in white to add some interest to the white backgrounds.

Pop Up 3D Vignette Phone Details

We’ve spent all month making funny phone jokes and puns! Do you realize this little relic is something that most youngsters haven’t seen in person?  Or know how to dial? Just as with the typewriter, the phone is an iconic part of our history and technology. Ever evolving, this phone will always be a part of our coming of age. During the month we played “I Spy” to peek into how folks were using this die and this is how designers are using it:

  • A shaker card
  • A notepad holder
  • A mini 4-page scrapbook (which will hold Instax pictures)
  • A gift card holder
  • A card with multiple sentiments
  • A basket

We’re sure there are more, here is how I used it as a gift tag on a bag:

There are SIXTEEN dies included in the Telephone Set

My Christmas Gift Bag came from an idea to create a gift tag that fits inside the phone. Just lift the 📞 receiver to reveal the holiday greetings! For this I used 3D Foam Lines adhesive on the back of the phone to create space for the tag to slide in and out.

You may recognize the ‘vintage’ paper I’m using. Since it’s a nice heavy weight with a white core, I sanded it to rough up the edges and show off some of the embossing.

Designer Tip:
Be sure to watch the video to see how to assemble this card, it’s not hard but the video helps!

This Phone Card was made according to the video, it has 4 cards for journaling, notes, quotes, stamped sentiments, photos, or even gift cards! It folds flat for mailing too. On this I used a bronze metallic cardstock and again, sanded the edges and embossed areas. Seriously, how much fun is this card?! I’m in ❤!
