Amazing Paper Grace June 2022 Die of the Month

I’m thrilled to be crafting a bit more lately. I had a chance to create with the new Amazing Paper Grace June Die of the Month, Pop Up 3D Vignette Road Trip! I have a few graduations to celebrate this year and this die is perfect! My first project is for my nephew’s graduation from nursing school.

I made the outstretched arm holding a rolled up diploma, and the car is in his school’s colors. I added a mortar board to his head.

This card folds flat to easily fit in an A7 sized envelope.

Dies for my creations today were supplied by Amazing Paper Grace.

There are 26 cutting dies included in the Pop Up 3D Vignette Road Trip. You can make front and back of the car, and you have dies to make the front and back of adult and child sized heads and hair. You also get a bridal veil and bouquet.

My second project is for our friend’s daughter. I wanted to make an equally cute card, but a little different. She loves daisies and yellow is her favorite color.

This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is 0622week1-bethpingry2.jpg

On the inside, I used the extra daisies and the cut out from the front frame. I tucked a gift card under the Congratulations banner. This card fits in an A7 envelope.

You may also notice that the grill on the front of the cars…one is upside down but I think it works either way. The headlights can be flipped, and the hood ornament can be placed where you like. There is embossing on the car body, so be sure to run it through the embossing sandwich.

Supplies:

I also used white cardstock, 3D Foam Squares and Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive liquid glue, Metallic Silver cardstock, Distress Ink, Platinum Die Cutting System .

The Amazing Paper Grace Die of the Month is available exclusively at Spellbinders Paper Arts during June 2022, Pop Up 3D Vignette Road Trip along with other membership perks.

A7 Christmas Card

Today I’m blog hopping with Amazing Paper Grace, who sent me these dies to use.

This magical menagerie of dies helps celebrate one of the most festive times of the year through paper crafting! The Holiday Medley Collection consists of eight die sets and a Glimmer Hot Foil Plate Set that coordinates with one of the die sets. The array of dies can be mixed within existing die sets to offer more creative options. These include the Make a Scene Card Base and 3D Vignettes. The versatile new Merry Filigree Card Builder, Celebrate Scrollwork Card Builder and Joy Crescent Card Builder sets create different card formats from A2, A7, Mini Slimline, to Slimline.

In addition, you can remove the Christmas Motifs and use them year-round. Visit each of the designers’ blogs for inspiration and ideas from the Holiday Medley Collection!

Slimline Christmas card

The die I’m using is S5-466 Joy Crescent Card Builder

My challenge was to show this die in 3 sizes, A2, A7, and slimline, with the same papers to show you how to use all parts of the die to create any size or shape card. By layering the cardstock with gold metallic paper I created a dimensional effect with the designs and words. For the Joy to the World part I die cut and then fussy cut the words and layered again.

The poinsettia flowers are from the Cinch and Go Poinsettia and I followed the tutorial in the Amazing Paper Grace Facebook Group (join, then go to Guides, the tutorial is by Anita Kejriwal).

Designer Tip: These dies have intricate cut lines, and even through I used a nice sturdy cardstock, I had to add a shim to the die cut sandwich. This saves having to run the die through a few times. When I get new dies I like to die cut all the pieces and save those so I can arrange them and decide how I’m going to use them without cutting into my designer papers until I’m ready.

Amazing Paper Grace Pop Up 3D Vignette Home Sweet Home

It’s so true that all paths lead home.  It’s during this long stint with the pandemic that many of us have come to realize that it doesn’t matter where you are; it’s the people you are with.  That’s the inspiration that fed into the creation of the July 2021 Amazing Paper Grace Die of the Month, Pop Up 3D Vignette Home Sweet Home.  The sentiment that comes within the set says it all – You are My Home.

There’s just something so quaint and sweet about little houses. They mean so much to us – a place of safety, a place of comfort, a place of love. It’s only fitting that one should show up as a Mini Vignette! This card folds flat to fit into an envelope to be sent through the mail. It beckons you to insert your favorite pictures, a multipage note or sweet nothings on the three panels that rest inside.

Here are some ideas that might inspire you to create:

  1. A mini scrapbook album
  2. A table centerpiece with a house on each side
  3. Separate the small house facade and use it on a card, a scrapbook layout, and beyond!

Dies for my creations today were supplied by Amazing Paper Grace.

There are 21 dies included in the Pop Up 3D Vignette Home Sweet Home.

My Project Today using Pop Up 3D Vignette Home Sweet Home

Today’s cards are an exercise in minimalism, not because I way trying to make a statement, but because we’re moving! My Grand Calibur is lovingly packed away, along with most of my craft supplies. I only have a 4″ wide die cut machine and a few sheets of cardstock at my finger tips. In a way it makes the process easier!

My 3D Vignette card is made according to the video linked below and the instructions with the kit. It’s easy and follows the same format as other 3D Vignettes. The placement of the embellishments is up to you, notice everyone has a different take on them.

My card below uses 2 sets from the Make A Scene collection because 1. I needed something for a background without having other supplies to use, and 2. they fit the card so perfectly! It’s a simple top fold, and to keep the Home tall and narrow I skipped the body of the house and cut down the roof to fit. You’ll notice the facade of the house has folds to give it some dimension.

Designer Tip:

Trim the inserts about 1/4 inch so they fit easily into the 3D Vignette card spaces. Use sturdy cardstock for the structure of the 3D Vignettes.
