Amazing Paper Grace Pop Up 3D Vignette Home Sweet Home

It’s so true that all paths lead home.  It’s during this long stint with the pandemic that many of us have come to realize that it doesn’t matter where you are; it’s the people you are with.  That’s the inspiration that fed into the creation of the July 2021 Amazing Paper Grace Die of the Month, Pop Up 3D Vignette Home Sweet Home.  The sentiment that comes within the set says it all – You are My Home.

There’s just something so quaint and sweet about little houses. They mean so much to us – a place of safety, a place of comfort, a place of love. It’s only fitting that one should show up as a Mini Vignette! This card folds flat to fit into an envelope to be sent through the mail. It beckons you to insert your favorite pictures, a multipage note or sweet nothings on the three panels that rest inside.

Here are some ideas that might inspire you to create:

  1. A mini scrapbook album
  2. A table centerpiece with a house on each side
  3. Separate the small house facade and use it on a card, a scrapbook layout, and beyond!

Dies for my creations today were supplied by Amazing Paper Grace.

There are 21 dies included in the Pop Up 3D Vignette Home Sweet Home.

My Project Today using Pop Up 3D Vignette Home Sweet Home

Today’s cards are an exercise in minimalism, not because I way trying to make a statement, but because we’re moving! My Grand Calibur is lovingly packed away, along with most of my craft supplies. I only have a 4″ wide die cut machine and a few sheets of cardstock at my finger tips. In a way it makes the process easier!

My 3D Vignette card is made according to the video linked below and the instructions with the kit. It’s easy and follows the same format as other 3D Vignettes. The placement of the embellishments is up to you, notice everyone has a different take on them.

My card below uses 2 sets from the Make A Scene collection because 1. I needed something for a background without having other supplies to use, and 2. they fit the card so perfectly! It’s a simple top fold, and to keep the Home tall and narrow I skipped the body of the house and cut down the roof to fit. You’ll notice the facade of the house has folds to give it some dimension.

Designer Tip:

Trim the inserts about 1/4 inch so they fit easily into the 3D Vignette card spaces. Use sturdy cardstock for the structure of the 3D Vignettes.

Halloween Gable Box by Beth Pingry for Amazing Paper Grace & Spellbinders

Create some BOOtiful creations with a new collection from Amazing Paper Grace The Halloween Collection. It’s super SPOOKY cute!

Becca Feeken with Amazing Paper Grace supplied the dies for my use today.

The Halloween Collection Details

This Halloween Collection includes three thin metal die sets. They can be used separately or mixed and matched with the die sets in the collection. It goes especially well with the popular Charming Cottage Box Die Set as you will see while hopping through.

The Halloween Collection sets used!

S4-1071 Spooky Cottage
S4-1069 Nested Clipped Squares
S6-153 Charming Cottage

My Haunted House Gift Box

Starting with the Charming Cottage die, yes it started as a Christmas sku, but it can be used without the holiday elements. Becca designed the Spooky Cottage die set to coordinate with this box. I love the zombie mummy, and in addition to the 2 layers he has, I wrapped him with distressed ribbon to make him look like he’s unraveling.

The roof is made from sticks, to look like a house this guy would hang around in. The windows and door are cut out, then covered in vellum and the black die cuts sit on top of that. The siding is a wood texture stamp.

So the dies are S6-153 Charming Cottage and S4-1071 Spooky Cottage, designed by Becca Feeken from Amazing Paper Grace called, available at Spellbinders.

Designer Tip:  I used a bone folder to go over the embossed folding lines to make crisp folds.

Are You My Mummy Card

This card was pretty quick and fun, using the S4-1069 Nested Clipped Squares. I started with a grey on black background from S4-1033 Woven Corners and Borders, which have a bit of a spider web look to them. I layered the Nested Clipped Squares in 2 sizes and hung a mummy in the center.

You can use a variety of materials to make the two layers of the mummy. Here I used a sparkly body and a textured paper for the wrap look. I put red ribbon under the sparkly body to make the red eyes.

Exciting News with Amazing Paper Grace!

I’m so excited to announce that I’m working with Becca Feeken of Amazing Paper Grace! You remember that I left my previous job in February for some much needed RnR. But then this came onto my radar…

Becca was looking for a Creative Team Coordinator. I’m stepping into that role temporarily (more details on this on her blog soon), and then working with her as a Social Media Strategist.

I’ve known Becca since my time at Spellbinders. I always love seeing her at the AFCI shows, and seeing what amazing die ideas she’s coming up with. Now I get to work with her!

Disclosure: I received some of today’s supplies for free from 3L, however all opinions are my own.

Be gentle with me, my paper craft mojo has been absent for a while. But I have this card today, using the Grand Arch die set, which creates an intricate 3D card base that reminds me of wrought iron. It’s really easy to create this shadowbox effect with the die cuts.

Now the flowers, that’s a different story…not that they’re hard to make, but I couldn’t make up my mind on which set of flowers to use. I watched a few videos and made 2 sets of flowers using the same dies. I love the more open flowers, so I’ll keep the other set for another project.

On the right side (below), die cut white cardstock then spritz with water and shape them with various sizes of embossing styluses. Then I used semi transparent sparkling watercolor paints to add the color, with the smallest pieces the darkest shades. All the leaves are shaped with a stylus and painted in a few shades of green.

For the left side flowers on the card, spritz the die cuts with water, fold them together and twist gently. Carefully unfold and allow them to dry. Then I painted with 2-3 shades of the watercolor paints, with the centers the darkest. PRO TIP: Be sure to let the flowers dry before assembling and attaching to the card. I found that Thin 3D Foam Squares were the best way to adhere these flowers.

Behind the flowers I tucked Shadowbox Ribbon Threader die cut, with a sheer pink ribbon woven through it. I cut them in half, folded and then layered the pieces.

Go check out Becca’s blog Amazing Paper Grace, and don’t miss yesterday’s post featuring a new die collection Elegant Twist – there’s a GIVEAWAY so be sure to visit and enter to win a die set! There’s even more news coming soon, be sure to join the Amazing Paper Grace Facebook group and follow her on Instagram!

Supplies I used:

Spellbinders dies S4-982 Cinch and Go Flowers IV, S4-984 Shadowbox Ribbon Threader, S6-138 3D Grand Arch; Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L 3D Foam Squares, Thin 3D Foam Squares; Graphic 45 Botanical Tea papers, Luminarte Twinking H2O paints, Pink Ribbon, White Cardstock; Stylus tools.

Thanks for visiting! And yes, as previously mentioned, I am selling a lot of older dies very soon!
