A Paper Basket for Easter

Or any other event, actually!  You pick the paper and accents!

Today is my day on the Crafty Power Blog, and I whipped up this little paper basket featuring Crafty Power Tape!

Make one, or make a several for parties!

You can even use them as place settings!

They’re easy enough for kids to do, and you get to use up some paper from the stash (so you can buy more, right?)

See the tutorial on the Crafty Power Blog at SCRAPBOOK ADHESIVES BY 3L™ website!

My featured die templates are:

S5-050 Nursery Time Frameabilities®

LF-251 Grand Big Scalloped Ovals

The first thing that came to mind was a baby announcement in a gate fold card.  The LF-251 Grand Big Scalloped Ovals were a perfect fit for the S5-050 Nursery Time Frameabilities.  It was pretty simple to construct, I layered the Grand Big Scalloped Ovals with Grand Ovals, using My Mind’s Eye Lush papers and cardstock.

The scallops allowed me to measure and fold the card perfectly!

I made a sleeve from the patterned paper, printed on the cut out from the large frame, and adhered the smaller frame to it.

Slide off the sleeve and the card opens.  I inked through the die template to color the embossed ducks and stitching detail.  I cut/embossed the frame in blue cardstock and pieced together a large frame to mat the cream colored frame.  I used the bear die cuts from the blue frame to sit in the bear shaped opening.

I love the peek-a-boo of the bear die cuts. Double sided patterned paper makes this card a delight to open, and the big scallops convey the sweetness of a new baby.  (No, there are no new babies in my house – just a very spoiled fur baby!!)  This card is going to be one of my favorites!

Flourishes Birthday Card Tutorial

I promised the instructions on the card I made for the Flourishes Birthday Blog Hop yesterday. Thank you Flourishes for the invitation to be a part of your blog hop!

I would have added the instructions to that post, but a combination of computer problems, some not so great photos, dentist appointments and a rugby parent meeting cut my time short, oh and that thing called work, which involves the not so productive computer.

Lets go going!  I mentioned my supply list,  Worldwin Paper, Clearsnap ink and Bits of Bling, SCRAPBOOK ADHESIVES BY 3L™ 3D Foam Squares and MyStik™ and a bit of twine!  I used Spellbinders™  LF-168 Grand Large LabelsS4-324 Ribbon Banners and S5-028 Nested Pennants.

I started with a Shaped Card base, made by folding 12×12″ cardstock in  half, aligning the fold line just below the cut edge of Grand Large Labels #5 (#1 is the smallest in the set).  I cut the shaped card base.

Next I taped the Grand Large Labels #4 to the card base, nesting it inside of the #5 die template.  I embossed this in the Grand Calibur™, and that’s how I achieved the second embossed line around the edges.

I cut/embossed with the #3 die template with white and lighter purple paper for the front and side of the card.  On the light purple front I stamped with one of the border stamps.

On the white-inside I stamped with one of the sentiments and floral images.

For the banner on the front, I stamped the plaid images and cut/embossed with the ribbon piece from Nested Pennants.  For the Ribbon Banners, I curved the stamp to match the curve of the die cut.

I used 3D Foam Squares to mount the Ribbon Banner to the front of the card.  I also used them to attach the twine to the Pennant, and then to the card, so they had a dimensional look.  I added some bling and it’s done!

And the finished card again,

Thank you again for stopping by!  Next week I’m in the Spellbinders Bunny Hop,

 I’ll post that schedule next!
